Offerta/Opera Vana is a ritual which aims at contemplating the impossibility.
The concept originates from two iconological images described by Cesare Ripa in his book Nova Iconologia: “Offerta” (offer) and "Opera Vana” (useless endeavor). The iconology of the Offer is described as a young woman, dressed in white, caught in the act of offering her heart with her left hand. The Opera Vana is a woman which stares with stunned eyes at several spiderwebs, which she is holding with both hands.
The traditional string-game becomes an utopian generator of symbolic figures.
